An international English spoken Exchange of Lessons Learned from Psychotrauma Care in Conflict Zones. We reflect on the structural determinants of mental health in war-affected individuals within humanitarian settings.
We delve into how factors such as poverty, inequality, displacement, and limited access to healthcare impact the mental well-being of people living in crisis situations worldwide. Various experts will provide insights for reflection on our own work here in the Netherlands. Using concrete examples from humanitarian contexts — and also among undocumented individuals in the Netherlands — they will demonstrate how these structural determinants profoundly affect mental health and how we can address them in treatment.
